2012 GMC Terrain

The 2012 GMC Terrain is a boldly styled five-passenger crossover SUV engineered with excellent fuel economy in mind.

The Terrain is powered by either a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 182-hp, or a 3.0-liter V6 engine with 264-hp. Both all-aluminum engines include direct injection and are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that helps to maximize efficiency. Buyers can choose between either a front-wheel or all-wheel drive system, depending on which meets their needs. Standard safety features include four-wheel anti-lock brakes with electronic stability and traction control, six airbags, OnStar, tire pressure monitoring and a security system. Available technology features include a rear parking system, power liftgate, remote vehicle start and seven-inch touch screen navigation with 40-gigabyte hard drive.

For 2012, the 2.4-liter engine has been made E85 capable. Bluetooth and steering wheel audio controls are now standard equipment on all models. The Terrain is built alongside its sister the Chevrolet Equinox in the CAMI assembly plant.<
